<프로방스 언덕의 화가: 리바이브>


반고흐의 상징은 본 전시 기조의 바탕이 됩니다.


프로방스의 언덕을 배회하는 반고흐를 상상해봅니다. 추상개념의 정립과 미술의 황홀경을 빚어낸 그가 우리에게 전달 하는 것은 고통의 범용성일 것이라고 말하고 싶습니다. 그것은 희노애락 또는 각자 나름대로 철학일수도 그 어떤것도 아닐수도 있겠습니다만 전달되는 그것은 골고다 언덕을 오름으로 박애정신의 표상을 남긴 예수의 행보와도 닮아있다고 생각됩니다.

작가의 구현과 큐레이팅이 정렬된 곳에서는 성인들을 통해 발견되는 정진의 가치를 사유합니다. 고통 또는 분투 처럼 불편한 것에 더 가까운 삶의 특성 속에서 황홀의 의미를 찾아가야 하는 방향성을 말합니다.

각자의 의미와 황홀의 표상을 작가들의 구현을 통해 발견되기를 바랍니다. 캔버스라는 지극히 사적인 공간에서 관람자는 자신의 내면에 부유하는 것들의 형체를 발견하게 되기를 바랍니다. 또한 자신이 오르내리고 있는 언덕의 모양을 발견하게 되기를 바랍니다.

The Symbol of Van Gogh as the Foundation of this Exhibition


I imagine Van Gogh wandering on the hills of Provence. I want to say that what he conveys, having shaped the establishment of abstract concepts and the ecstasy of art, is the universality of suffering. This could be a reflection of joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness, or perhaps a philosophy unique to each individual, but I believe what is communicated resembles the journey of Jesus, who left a symbol of the spirit of philanthropy by ascending Golgotha.


In the place where the artist's implementation and curating align, we contemplate the value of diligence discovered through saints. It speaks to the direction we must take in finding meaning in ecstasy amidst the uncomfortable aspects of life, such as suffering or striving.

I hope that through the artists' implementations, each individual discovers their own meaning and symbols of ecstasy. In this deeply personal space of the canvas, I hope viewers can find the shapes of what floats within their inner selves. Furthermore, I wish for them to discover the shape of the hills they are ascending and descending.
